The W ar College Prize

First announced for the first quarter of 2003.
Suspended after the ninth contest, for the first quarter of 2005, due to lack of participation.

A prize contest is held during each quarter of the year. At the beginning of the quarter, a topic is announced on which contributions can be sent to the War College staff. At the end of the quarter, a jury, consisting of the Commandant and the Assistant Commandant of the War College, plus a neutral third person, selects the best contribution as prize winner. It is published on the War College pages in full length, indicating that it was a prize-winning contribution. The author of the winning contribution in addition receives a medal (image above), a prize money of 20 OBD points, and an entry in the list of prize winners on the War College pages. The other contributions are consolidated, by the Commandant of the War College, in an additional article on the same subject, so to ensure that no valuable tips be lost. As always, each contributor is rewarded with the standard compensation in OBD points. The jury reserves the right not to award the prize at all if no contribution meets the standards.
