This is my attempt to create one
leaders file that can be used for all the mods being created. In addition to cleaning up
the many files available I attempted to eliminate duplicates, verify and correct those
being used and update the file whenever I found missing pictures or whenever new scenarios
were created. Thanks to Luciano Bassotti's recent suggestion of saving the file differently
it is considerably smaller.
This latest file is in a slightly different format. I removed the
picture frame border thus making the pictures larger. The file now includes over 1100 officers.
Included in the zipfile is the leaders.bmp file which goes
in the Info folder of the Corinth game and Cor_Leaders.txt which is a list of the leaders
saved as a .txt file which has been successfully loaded into Works, Excel and Lotus as a
spreadsheet. This contains an alphabetical listing of the pictures in the file with the
number of the picture and the necessary information on the officer including suggested
command & leadership ratings as compiled by Hank Smith.
This file has been tried in everything from a 200 MHz Pentium
MMX machine with 64 mb of ram running Win 95 to a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 machine with 512 mb
running XP. Although it takes little longer to load the program, especially in the older
machine, it ran ok. As always before you install this it is recommended you make a backup
copy of your current leaders.bmp file before you install this file so you can restore it if
needed. For those who didn't do so and aren't sure how to get the files off the Corinth
CD I have links to downloadable zipfiles containing the original files available elsewhere
on this site.
